Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew continued working on the installation of reinforcing steel for the retaining wall footing and wall stem along approximately 60–180 lineal feet of the wall alignment in accordance with the structural drawings. The footing area had already been excavated to the required depth, and a crushed stone base layer (GAB) had been placed and leveled across the footing trench. Wooden layout boards and braces were installed along both sides of the trench to mark the footing alignment.
The reinforcement used for the footing consisted of #6 reinforcing bars placed in both longitudinal and transverse directions forming a reinforcement grid. The reinforcing steel appeared to be installed as per job specifications for size, spacing and quantity.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
