Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor continue tracking and stabling slopes at the Phase 2 extension using dozers.
The pipe contractor continued excavating and installing 30″ RCP storm line between manholes #B4 and B5. The pipe was bedded on residual soils and backfilled in compacted lifts. The contractor also started excavation between B5 and B6 installing 30″ RCP storm line. The writer performed density tests using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Compaction results were in compliance with job specifications.
The drilling contractor (Advance) continued drilling at Lots #43 and 44 using two rigs.
The paving contractor also was on site and continued subbase preparation at Nature Walk Boulevard undercutting and repairing subgrades damaged by the curb installation and replacing subgrade soils that displayed movement under traffic using GAB.
