Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor continue to compact in-place fill soils at building Lots #41 and 42. Following compacting efforts using a vibratory sheep-foot roller, our representative observed the compaction by proof-rolling in-place fill using an off-road dump truck. The in-place fill displayed moderate to severe movement under the truck traffic. The in-place fill was also probed using a rounded end steel rod which indicated saturated and fill soils not compacted to required job specifications. It was recommended to the contractor to scarify in place saturated soils allowing to aerate and lower moisture contents prior to recompacting.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
