Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (Lewis Contracting) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.

A site inspection was performed. A grab sample of the backfill material stockpiled on site was taken back to the lab to perform a moisture-density relationship (proctor). This sample contains soils mixed with GAB for the purposes of drying out the soil to a near optimum moisture content. It appears the contractor has placed approximately 2 feet of soil over the sewer line. ASEC will be back on the next available workday to perform density testing with the new proctor information.
