Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to re-observe failed density tests performed previously at building Lots #42 and 41. The contractor had not made additional compacting efforts as recommended. It is recommended to re-observe prior to placing additional fill at a depth of -5′. The writer also observed storm pipe installation at G line recommending placing at least two feet of clean compacted fill around and over the CMP storm line.  After speaking with owner’s representative, it was decided that excavated topsoil materials could be placed over the pipeline in the slope embankment area. It was also observed that the grading contractor had begun placing fill for the basement lots.  We recommended the contractor call us for subgrade observation prior to placing fill for these building lot pads.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
