Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (Lewis Contracting) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.

The contractors continued placing soil lifts of approximately 1 foot in size over the sanitary sewer line. It appears the contractors have placed approximately 2 to 3 feet since the last round of testing and compacted the lifts using a combination of a trench roller, jumping jack, and a vibrating sheep-foot roller. In areas with higher moisture contents, it was recommended to static roll the lifts to not increase the moisture levels (with vibration). Density testing was performed and test results were provided to the contractor. Test results were also provided to the site inspect Mr. Harris (Ascension Engineers and Consultants).
