Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the paving contractor continue subgrade preparation for Unit 4 Phases 1A and 1B. The subgrade soils displayed severe washed eroded gullies at the curb lines. Exact subgrade elevation has not been established yet at 1B where most erosion has occurred. It was recommended to fill in washed eroded areas with additional base stone especially for undermined areas at the existing curb line. The contractor plans to proof-roll subgrades tomorrow.
The pipe contractor continued hauling off excavated blast rock from Nature Walk Parkway and stockpiling at Unit 4 Phase 3.
The pipe contractor also continued backfilling 36″ CMP storm line between A4 and A5.
The drilling contractor continued drilling at the cul-de-sac at Unit 4 Phase 2.
The writer observed removal of old asphalt and the excavation to install new curbing at the new roundabout for the north side of the bridge.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
