Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.

The grading crew continued to assist the wall crew in the installation of retaining wall 1 as well as bringing up the slope behind the wall at the same time. It was recommended to bench into the slope during backfilling approximately 2 feet x 2 feet. The grading crew has also started to excavate the remaining part of the footing for retaining wall 1 (located under the temporary pond). DCP testing will be performed of the following workday. The wall crew is presently installing their baskets. The grading crew is spreading soil lifts of approximately 1 foot in thickness across the baskets and compacting with a vibrating sheep-foot roller. Density testing was performed and test results were provided to the contractor. ASEC watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There were no signs of severe pumping/deflection present.

The pipe crew continued to install SSMH 5.2 pipeline. They are hitting a large amount of rock in this area.
