Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to observe proof-rolling of subbase stone for curb placement at Nature Walk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #6 and 4. The proof-roll was observed with members from NWGP and Paulding County using a loaded tandem dump truck with an 18.36-ton payload. The subbase appeared stable under traffic and was approved for concrete placement. The curbing contractor was on site and placed approximately 80 cubic yards of 3000 psi concrete mix (type 7 curb).

The paving contractor also continued subbase preparation at roadway phase 1B placing base stone at the recommended (4″) clipped subgrade. The contractor continued wetting and compacting in place base stone.

The drilling contractor continued drilling rock at the phase 2 cul-de-sac.

The grading contractor continued hauling blast rock from phase 2 and placing at Unit 4 Phase 3 in compacted lifts which were observed at elevations 923 and 922.

The pipe contractor began excavation to install 24″ CMP storm line at C line setting manhole structure C1. The contractor continued installation where hard rock was encountered in trench full depth of seven feet where an attempt to break the rock up took two hours using a hammer but without much success.
