Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew started working on Lots #63 and 64. Fill material was placed in lifts and spread using a crawler bulldozer, followed by compaction using both a sheep-foot roller and a Caterpillar 815. Density tests were performed; however, the results did not initially meet the required compaction. We recommended to remove the top 4 to 6 inches, scarify the surface, and recompact the material. After reworking, additional compaction was performed, and subsequent density tests met the required specifications.
Between Manholes A8 and A9, the subgrade was leveled and compacted in preparation for placing fill material to reach the required elevation.
At the Buford neighborhood site, the crew leveled the subgrade and placed No. 57 stone. A DIP pipe was installed along with the SSA6 manhole and risers. Backfill material was placed and compacted using a jumping jack compactor around the structure and pipe. Additional temporary backfill was placed, which will require further compaction in subsequent operations.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
