Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew continued working on Lots #62, 63, 64, and the adjacent roadway area. Fill material was placed in lifts, spread using a crawler bulldozer, and compacted using both a sheep-foot roller and a Caterpillar 815. Density tests were performed, and the results met the required project compaction specifications.
On the other side, the crew continued working on the deceleration lane, where the sub-grade was leveled, and fill material was placed in lifts using a crawler bulldozer and compacted using a sheep-foot roller.
At Retaining Wall 5, the crew continued installation of CMU blocks by leveling the subgrade and placing No. 57 stone. No. 57 stone was also placed within the CMU block cores, and a fabric sheet was installed as part of the drainage and separation system. Geogrid appeared to be placed in accordance with the design requirements. The blocks appeared to be installed as per the project plans. Fill material was then placed in lifts and compacted using both a double drum roller and a sheep-foot roller.
At the Buford neighborhood site, the crew continued trench excavation using a hydraulic excavator equipped with a rock grinder to achieve the required depth and wide.
