Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Crew continued working on the retaining wall. Manhole risers were installed as the fill material reached the required grade at each structure. Fill material was placed in lifts and compacted using a jumping jack compactor and trench compactor in areas around manholes and close to the wall. The remaining areas were compacted using both a Caterpillar 815 and a sheep-foot roller.

At Retaining Wall 5, the crew continued wall construction by placing CMU blocks in accordance with the project plans. Fill material was placed at the wall in lifts and compacted using a trench compactor and a sheep-foot roller.

At the Buford neighborhood site, the crew continued trench excavation using a hydraulic excavator equipped with a rock grinder to achieve the required depth and alignment.
