Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Area 3:
No. 89 stone was placed as a base layer. Following this, fill material was placed in controlled lifts. Each lift was compacted using a trench compactor to achieve proper density and stability. The work progressed systematically lift by lift.
Area 4:
Fill material was placed and compacted using a sheep foot roller. Density tests were performed and did not meet the required compaction due to excessive moisture present between the layers. To address this, the crew mixed GAB with the existing material to improve gradation and reduce moisture effects. The area was then re-compacted, and subsequent tests met the required compaction. Work continued with placement and compaction of additional lifts in a controlled manner.
Area 6:
GAB material was placed as fill and compacted using a trench compactor, sheep foot roller and smooth drum roller. Compaction activities were carried out to ensure proper support and stability of the layer.
