Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day:

Area 1
Asphalt paving was performed for one lane. Quality control (QC) was conducted by Geohydro.

Area 2
An unplanned concrete pour was completed for a slab. Refer to the associated photos and testing report for documentation and results.

Area 3
A waterproofing membrane was installed, followed by placement of approximately 6 inches No. 89 stone and corrugated pipe. Backfilling operations commenced. Refer to the testing report for compaction results.

Area 4
Backfilling and placement of soil for the second lift.

Area 6
Sheet piles were cut to below grade (see photos). Corrugated pipe installation was observed with approximately 6 inches of No. 89 stone bedding. Backfilling of the first lift commenced.

Runway Area
Concrete cylinder samples from the previous day’s pour around light cans were transported to the CW Matthews laboratory for testing.
