Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
At manhole F1, the crew sealed the connection between the pipe and manhole with concrete to provide a watertight joint. The crew then continued installing the 24-inch RCP pipe along the alignment while maintaining line and grade. Following installation, suitable fill material was placed around the pipe in lifts and compacted using both a jumping jack compactor and a trench compactor. Density tests were performed on the compacted material, and the results met the required job specifications for compaction.
After completion of two tests, contractor representative Dennis/Brayan stated that no additional inspection or testing services were needed for the remainder of the day. He also mentioned that only two density tests are required for every 300 feet length of installed pipeline and he would contact us in the future whenever testing or inspection services are needed.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
