Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
At Wall 4, the crew continued installing CMU blocks in accordance with the project plans and specifications. Fill material was then placed behind and around the wall area in lifts and compacted using a trench compactor in confined areas and a sheep-foot roller for larger accessible areas.
In the temporary pond area near CO@R/W, another crew removed wet and unsuitable material from the area. After removal, the exposed surface was compacted using a sheep-foot roller. Suitable fill material was then placed in lifts, spread evenly with a crawler bulldozer, and compacted using a sheep-foot roller.
At the Neighborhood Buford area, the crew continued excavating to the required depth, placed and leveled No. 59 stone for bedding, and installed DIP pipe. Backfill material was then placed around the pipe in lifts and compacted using a trench compactor. While continuing excavation for additional pipe installation, the crew encountered rock. The rock excavation area measured approximately 10 feet in length, 8 feet in depth, and 8 feet in width. Total area of 24 cubic yards. The crew used a rock grinder to excavate the rock to the required depth for the installation of Manhole A4.
