Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

At manhole B1, the crew excavated the soil to the required depth, leveled the sub grade, placed and leveled No. 57 stone, and installed an 8-inch PVC sewer pipe in the south direction. Approximately 6 inches of loose backfill material was placed but had not yet been compacted.

The crew also excavated to the required depth, leveled the sub grade, and installed a DIP sewer line between manholes A12 and A13 from Station 360+00. Approximately 375 lineal feet of 8-inch PVC sewer pipe was installed in the southwest direction using 20-foot pipe sections. Backfill material was placed in a single lift but had not yet been compacted.

At the temporary pond located within the construction right-of-way and at Lots #34 and #35, the crew continued placing fill material. The material was spread in lifts using a crawler bulldozer and compacted using both a Caterpillar 815 compactor and a sheep-foot roller. Density tests were performed throughout the work areas.
