Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
The crew drained water from the proposed foundation area and removed loose, unsuitable material. After the area was cleaned out, the sub grade was leveled to the required grade and elevation. A geo-textile fabric was then placed, and the crew began installing No. 57 stone from the corner in the west direction.
While placing the stone, it was discovered that the excavation had not been carried out to the full foundation dimensions. The crew had not removed the additional 1.0 foot required in the west direction and 1.33 feet required in the north direction for the footing thickness.
It was also observed that at the northwest corner, the excavation had been made approximately 4 feet inside the stake line instead of 4 feet outside the stake line as shown on the plans.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
