Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the paving contractor continue placing base stone for the deceleration lane and entrance drive. The continuing subgrade was clipped -6″ and replaced with additional base stone. The writer also observed the pipe contractor Savannah perform air testing on the sanitary sewer line at roadway.
The writer observed the pipe contractor installing 8″ ductile iron water line at phase 2 unit 4. Density tests were performed by another technician from ASEC.
The writer observed the grading contractor Thompson continue placing soil fill over rock fill at unit 3 and 4. Recommendations made were to blade thick lifts down to 8″ to 10″ loose lifts and then compact for better denity.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
