Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
The crew continued storm and utility installation activities at multiple locations on site.
Between Manhole CB 2.6 and Manhole CB 6.1, backfill material was placed and compacted using a trench compactor. From Manhole CB 6.1 toward Manhole CB 6.2, the crew installed approximately 81 lineal feet of 24-inch RCP in the east direction. From Manhole CB 6.2 toward Manhole CB 6.28, the crew installed approximately 30 feet of 18-inch RCP in the north direction. After pipe installation, backfill material was placed in lifts around the manholes and pipe. The backfill was compacted using a jumping jack compactor and trench compactor.
At another location, the crew continued installing HDPE pipe from Manhole CB 3.4 toward Manhole CB 3.5. The subgrade was leveled, No. 57 stone was placed below the pipe, and approximately 220 feet of 18-inch HDPE pipe was installed in the southeast direction. No. 57 stone was then placed around and over the pipe. From Manhole CB 3.5 toward Manhole CB 3.6, approximately 30 lineal feet of 18-inch HDPE pipe was installed in the northeast direction, with No. 57 stone placed below and above the pipe.
At the sanitary sewer area between Manhole A18 and Manhole A19, the crew continued installation of 8-inch DIP. The total pipe run is approximately 347 lineal feet, and the crew completed installation of the remaining 60 feet in the south direction. Backfill material was placed and compacted using both a trench compactor and sheep-foot roller. From Manhole A19 toward Manhole A20, the crew excavated soil to the required depth, placed No. 57 stone bedding, and installed approximately 75 lineal feet of 8-inch DIP in the southwest direction.
