Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the paving contractor (JW) continue asphalt paving placing topping mix (12.5) for the deceleration lane and entrance radius drive. The contractor placed approximately 55 tons of topping mix. Temperature checks were performed on truck loads. Compacting equipment appeared to be adequate for placement.
The writer also observed the grading contractor (Thompson) continue fill placement at the roadway over the Plantation gas line. The fill was compacted using a sheet-foot roller in the static mode. The fill was probed using a rounded end steel rod and also observed under the traffic of an off-road dump truck which indicated no movement. This observation is suitable for compaction requirements.
The blasting contractor made the second rock blast for the detention pond.
The writer observed the curbing contractor pouring type seven curbing at the east side bridge roundabout.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
