Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Fill was placed, spread and compacted using a sheep-foot roller. The crew then used a motor grader to shape, trim, and bring the roadway subgrade to the required elevation based on the grade stakes. After grading was completed, the roadway surface was finish-rolled using a smooth-drum roller.

At the future lot areas, the crew continued fill placement operations. Fill material was delivered using loaded dump trucks, spread and leveled in lifts using a crawler bulldozer, and compacted using a sheep-foot roller.  Fill placement and compaction activities were observed and in-place density testing performed on the compacted fill at selected locations. The density test results met the required compaction criteria at the locations tested.
