At the future lot areas, fill material was delivered using articulated dump trucks, spread and leveled with a crawler bulldozer, and compacted using a sheepsfoot roller. I observed the fill placement and compaction activities and performed in-place density testing at selected locations within the compacted fill. The initial density test results did not meet the required project compaction criteria at the locations tested. The contractor was informed of the failing results, and it was recommended that the affected areas be scarified, reworked, and re-compacted prior to retesting.

The crew began reworking the affected fill and performed additional rolling using loaded trucks and a sheepfoot roller. Before follow-up density testing could be performed, rainfall began at the site.
