Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the
purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were
employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor for the
observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. A proof roll was conducted on the GAB located around the grease traps in the middle of the site. There was no severe pumping present in this area. The contractors removed asphalt from the light duty road and there was pumping present under the skid steer. It was recommended to remove the GAB and excavate approx. 2ft to 3ft of the unsuitable soil and replace with GAB in approx. 8in lifts. The contractor agreed and fixed this area of the road. There was still a slight pump present after fixing this area, but due to time restraints, and because it was a light duty road, the contractor decided to pave it. The contractors milled out the bad sections of the asphalt marked with green paint. Some areas appeared to be cracked or higher than 1.5inches below the curbs. After milling, the contractor paved the milled areas as well as the GAB area around the grease traps in the middle of the site. Trucks were checked for temperatures, and the paving was monitored by ASEC.
