Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was onsite to observe the grading contractor continue compacting in place fill for Lots #33 and 34. The in place fill was observed to be saturated from previous rain events appearing to be 5% to 8% above optimum moisture content. The grading contractor scarified in place fill attempting to lower moisture contents. With present moisture contents it will be difficult to lower the moisture content by aerating in one day. The in-place soils will require drying or replacing to achieve the required percent compaction. The writer also observed reinforcing steel for the curb inlets throats being poured on today.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
