Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our writer was onsite to observe the pipe contractor Savannah continue installation of the 8″ sanitary sewer DIP line pushing through the 16″casing. The contractor backfilled over the sewer line with the excavated soils which were above optimum and compacted without vibration efforts due to the gas line. The compaction efforts appeared to be suitable for 90% in slope grass area by probing.

The grading contractor continued placing fill for building Lots #33 and 34 after a rain event. The contractor stopped fill placement after the writer observed saturated conditions and recommended not to continue fill placement due to excessive moisture conditions.

The curbing contractor continued pouring 30″ curbing at Naturewalk parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #14 and 12 using two loads of 3000 concrete mix installing approximately 350 linear feet.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
