Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative made two trips to observe fill placement for the bridge west side abutment in the morning and performing density tests late afternoon after compacting efforts had been complete. Compaction results failed to meet project specifications and recommendations were made to use an off-road dump truck for additional compacting efforts. The contractor plans to follow recommendations and re compact tomorrow prior to re-testing. Density tests were performed at elevation -7.5 feet below the sanitary sewer installation location.
