Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was onsite to observe the wall contractor RWS continue backfilling at the bridge abutment west side after retests were performed at failed locations. Retests were in compliance with project specifications. The writer continued observing fill placement and performing density tests using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643.

The writer observed the curb contractor continue pouring approximately 300 lineal feet of 30″ curb at Naturewalk parkway using a 3000-psi concrete mix,

The grading contractor Thompson continued placing fill at Unit 4 Phase 3 future Lots #66, 67 and 68. The contractor has placed approximately six feet of fill at rear of lots. It is recommended to perform DCP tests at these fill locations to verify compaction efforts.

The writer also observed the pipe contractor Savannah continue installing 20″ and 16″ casing for 12″ and 10″ ductile iron water line at the bridge roundabout.
