Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor Thompson continue backfilling for the west side bridge abutment. The writer performed density tests using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Compaction results were in compliance with project specifications.
The writer also observed the paving contractor NWGP continue subbase preparation at NatureWalk parkway preparing for a proof-roll on tomorrow.
The writer assisted in observing DCP tests being performed at Seven Hills Phase 13 building Lots #40 and 41. Due to a large volume of weathered rock materials used for fill it was difficult to perform the tests manually. These lots were observed and density tests performed during placement therefore, it is in the writer opinion that foundation footings are suitable for a bearing design pressure of 2000 psf.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
