Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor Thompson continue placing fill at building Lots #14 thru 16. Some rock fill was placed at these locations and the contractor stated that elevations were six to eight feet below grade in these areas. The writer performed density tests using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643. Locations observed today were in compliance with project specifications. The contractor also placed fill at Lots #7 and 8.

The writer observed the grading contractor performing subgrade preparation at NatureWalk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #3 and 2. The contractor is placing an additional 8″ to 12″ of fill to existing subgrade.

The paving contractor NWGP placed 19mm SP asphalt binder mix at NatureWalk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #12 and 10. The writer observed the contractor placing liquid tack at existing curb lines prior to paving.
