Visual observation techniques were employed to evaluate work in-place for general compliance with the Project Plans and Specifications.

Observations

The undersigned ASEC representative monitored compaction efforts for the area being prepared for concrete placement. The proposed placement area was a 140-foot-long section of the sidewalk as shown in the pictures below. The compaction of subgrade was performed using a walk behind vibratory roller. The subgrade was checked by the undersigned representative by probing and constant observing of compaction efforts at this section. The subgrade appeared to be suitable for sidewalk placement and no soft or weak areas were noted.

Approximately 18 cu.yds. of concrete was ordered and delivered on this day; part of the fill placement in the subject area. The undersigned representative sampled the first truck delivered to the site on this day. The plastic properties and strength test results will be reported on the concrete test report.
