Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering & Consulting (ASEC) representative arrived on site to observe field activities. The following tasks were performed:

Observed the placement of fill/grading for Lots #73 and #111 today. Compaction tests were performed using a nuclear density gauge. The fill soils placed on Lot #73 were found to be too high in moisture and resulted in failing compaction tests.  We recommend scarifying, aerating and recompaction in this area.  A shallow excavation was made in one of the cut areas and the fill obtained from this area was placed and compacted on Lot #111.  These soils were found to be closer to optimum moisture content and more workable.   Results are attached in separate reports.
