Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued to place blast material fill on roadway leading up to the bridge. The lifts were approximately 2 ft in size due to rocks being approximately 1 ft to 2 ft in diameter. As the contractor used the sheep-foot roller, it appeared to be breaking down the rock. The contractor also spreads an approximate 1 ft lift of finer material over top of the blast material to help fill voids. Our ASEC representative watched as loaded off road trucks rolled over the lifts to identify any unstable areas. There appeared to be no pumping/rutting areas in the roadway. The contractor placed larger blast rock (+2.5ft in size) in greenspace areas.
The pipe crew installed SSMH B2 to SSMH B3. This area, and the pipeline for SSMH9 (roadway) was density tested, and test results were provided to the contractor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
