Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing lifts of approximately 1 foot to 1.5 feet in size across the commercial lots located by the front detention pond. Our representative discussed the lift size with the contractor and expressed concerns of potential low compaction results due to lifts being installed too thick. The contractor requested to test the area first before they changed lift sizes. ASEC agreed and performed density testing. All test results were provided to the contractor.
The contractor continued placing lifts of approximately 6 to 8 inches across the Lots #8 through #13 and #52 through #60 area. Density testing was performed, and all test results were provided to the contractor. Our representative watched as loaded trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There were no signs of severe pumping or deflection present, and the lift appeared to be stable.
The pipe crew installed BA2 through BA5. Density testing will be performed when they backfill approximately +2ft above the pipeline.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
