FIELD OBSERVATIONS

On the above date, an AS Engineering and Consulting, LLC (ASEC) representative visited the site at the contractor’s request to observe earthwork operations and perform quality control testing in accordance with the project drawings, specifications, and approved materials submittals.

The contractor was completing the final approximately 2 feet of fill placement along the dam embankment located at the rear of the site. Fill was placed in approximately 12-inch lifts and compacted using a sheepsfoot roller.

Field in-place density testing was conducted along the dam embankment. Fill performance was further evaluated by observing loaded off-road haul trucks traversing the lift, which served as proofrolling. No pumping, cracking, or instability was observed during these activities.

Following completion of the fill placement, the contractor proceeded with topsoil placement in designated green space areas and implemented rain preparation measures in anticipation of forecasted precipitation later in the day.
