Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the
purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were
employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (NG Grading) for the
observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.
The grading crew continued removal of topsoil from the footing of wall #1. This area appears to have PWR present in the footing. DCP testing will be conducted once the footing has been excavated. The grading crew placed topsoil along the slopes of lot #19 – #22. this area showed a serve amount of pumping present. Because the pumping was within 10ft of a house pad, it was recommended to remove the topsoil and replace with structural fill. The contractor agreed and excavated the topsoil and placed it further back on the slope.
The paving crew is finishing last touches to the deceleration lane before the proof roll tomorrow morning.
The pipe crew began backfilling SSMH 2.2 to 2.3. Soil was installed in approx. 8in to 12in lifts and compacted with a combination of a trench roller and a vibrating sheep’s foot roller. Density testing was conducted and test results were provided to the contractor.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding
