Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. A proof-roll was performed on Lots #71 through #83. The proof-roll was performed with a loaded off-road dump truck. There were no signs of severe pumping/deflection present, and the lots appear to be stable. The contractor will be grassing these lots on the following workday.

The pipe crew continued installation of sewer line 5.2 to 5.3. This area is majority blasted rock and PWR. Visual inspections were performed to verify the backfilling process of this line. The contractor spread lifts of approximately 1 foot to 2 feet in size (due to rock size) and compacted using a vibrating sheep-foot roller. This section of the pipeline is unable to be density tested due to the presence of large rock.

The grading crew continued to build up the slope along retaining wall 1. The grading crew excavated the remainder of the footing and ordered No. 57 stone and GAB for the remediation of the failed section of the footing. The temporary pond (above retaining wall 1) had the OCS removed and will begin to get filled over the next few workdays.
