Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to observe the grading contractor (JW) continue subgrade preparation by undercutting existing saturated sub grade soils for the roadway. The subgrade was probed using a 3/8″ diameter rounded end steel rod and recommendations were made to undercut -8″ and replace with additional base stone (GAB) compacting to 98%. The first forty feet was undercut -8″ and remaining areas being observed was recommended to clip -6″ replacing with additional base stone. The subgrade area observed today was just past the mailbox Kiosk drive. The contractor only undercut and clipped subgrade areas today (did not place any base stone).

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
