On July 5th, 2022, Jared of AS Engineering and Consulting, LLC (ASEC) visited the site at the contractor’s request to observe footing excavations for shallow footings for Lots #85 and 41. The excavation exposed stiff residual silty fine sand in the base of the footings.  Reinforcing steel for both Lots #85 and 41 were observed to be placed according to job specifications for size, spacing and quantity.  The footing soils were found acceptable for an allowable soil bearing pressure of 2000 psf. Footing concrete should be placed before the onset of inclement weather. If footing soils become soft and/or wet prior to concrete placement, ASEC should be contacted to revisit the site.
