Observations/Finding

As requested, our ASEC representative was on site to observe daily activities.  The following was observed this day:

Density testing for DOA Fiber AVS NS.

Location: DOA Fiber AVS NS (North of Economy Parking Exit)

Objective: The objective of this report is to provide a summary of the density test conducted at the DOA Fiber AVS NS site. The density test was carried out by Isaac Davis an ASEC technician to assess the compaction and moisture levels of various lifts within the project area.

Procedure:

  1. ASEC technician Isaac Davis arrived on site at DOA Fiber AVS NS.
  2. BBH contractors completed conduit installation, tying it into the manhole.
  3. Density test readings were taken for each lift as described below:

Test Results:

Lift #1:

  • Initial Test Reading:
    • Wet Density: 118.8 pcf
    • Dry Density: 112.8 pcf
    • Moisture Content: 5.4%
    • Compaction: 91%
  • Retest Reading:
    • Wet Density: 121.0 pcf
    • Dry Density: 111.6 pcf
    • Moisture Content: 8.4%
    • Compaction: 90%

Lift #2:

  • Wet Density: 125.7 pcf
  • Dry Density: 112.9 pcf
  • Moisture Content: 11.4%
  • Compaction: 91%

Lift #3:

  • Wet Density: 127.0 pcf
  • Dry Density: 115.1 pcf
  • Moisture Content: 10.3%
  • Compaction: 92.8%

Lift #4:

  • First Test Reading:
    • Wet Density: 115.4 pcf
    • Dry Density: 106.8 pcf
    • Moisture Content: 8.0%
    • Compaction: 86.5%
  • Retest Reading:
    • Wet Density: 121.9 pcf
    • Dry Density: 112.5 pcf
    • Moisture Content: 8.4%
    • Compaction: 90.7%

Lift #5:

  • Wet Density: 122.9 pcf
  • Dry Density: 114.1 pcf
  • Moisture Content: 7.7%
  • Compaction: 92%

Lift #6:

  • Wet Density: 127.9 pcf
  • Dry Density: 115.1 pcf
  • Moisture Content: 11.0%
  • Compaction: 92.8%

Upon completion of density testing, it was observed that the measured values for all lifts were within the specified limits, indicating satisfactory compaction and moisture levels. The project area at DOA Fiber AVS NS met the required specifications based on the test results.
