Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering & Consulting (ASEC) representative arrived on site to observe field activities. The following tasks were performed:

There was no undercutting and/or backfilling during the day.

Early moisture content tests show 32.1% and it was suggested to scarify, aerate prior to recompacting.

In addition, the retention wall footing preparation began this day. However, the footing location was very wet and was found to have visible organics.  The footing will need to be addressed prior to a formal footing inspection for soil bearing strength and concrete placement.

A 7' hole dug within the retention wall footing shows still soft and with organic matter
