Observations/Finding

Our AS Engineering & Consulting (ASEC) representative arrived on site to observe field activities. The following tasks were performed:

Observed cutting and fill placemen activities as performed by a 349E CAT excavator and hauled using 745C tandem-axled dump tracks.  Soils were spread by a 61Pxi Komatsu Bulldozer and compaction using an 815F CAT Roller.

Compaction did not meet job specifications. The contractor was informed, and the area was recompacted with some improvement in compaction testing.  However, this area still requires additional effort to meet job specifications.
