Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, an ASEC representative visited the project site from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM to provide quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and approved material submittals.
Backfilling of the sewer line was in progress over two to three feet of pipe between Manhole 9 and Manhole 8. Four density tests were performed during this activity, and most of the test results met the required specifications. Special instruction was provided to the use of soil containing clay and sensitive moisture contents to achieve optimum compaction. Some areas were observed to be soft, and a recommendation was given to perform additional compaction using a 10-ton capacity sheep foot roller.
During the afternoon, two drill machines were in operation completing the few remaining holes for Lot #25 in preparation for blasting activities scheduled for the following day.
The equipment operating on site for the day consisted of two drill machines, one excavator, and one 10-ton roller.
Overall, the work was completed without major issues. We appreciate the opportunity to provide our services on this project, and should there be any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us.
