Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the
purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were
employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (NG Grading) for the
observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. Upon arrival to the site, the site appeared to be frozen from low temperatures over the previous night. The contractor spent the morning stripping away any frosted ground before placing fill. As the sun comes out at temperatures rise, the frosted ground turns into mud. The contractor focused their efforts on lots #8 – #13 and #52 – #60 area. after removal of frosted ground, the contractor began placing lifts of approx. 6in to 8in in size and compacted via sheep’s foot roller. Density testing was conducted, and test results were provided to the contractor.

The pipe crew began installation of pipeline in the back detention pond area. This pipeline appears to be in greenspace located along the bank and running in-between the lots. The contractor appears to be putting in a good effort to properly compact this area.

Contractor spent the remainder of the afternoon slicking off the site for the scheduled rain in the forecast.
