Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site to observe the contractor (NG Grading) and for the observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. Upon arrival to the site, the contractor removed the surface layer of the fill areas due to high moisture contents of the surficial soils. The contractor began filling in the commercial lot area by the front detention pond and across Lots #8 through #13 and #52 Through #60. The contractor spread fill in approximately 6 to 8-inch lifts and compacted via a sheep-foot roller. Our representative watched as loaded off road trucks rolled across the lifts. There were no signs of pumping or deflection present, and the lifts appear to be stable. Density testing was performed, and all test results were provided to the contractor.
The pipe crew continued installation of AA pipeline in the back detention pond area. This area is a greenspace slope and the backfill material consists of blasted rock. It appears that the contractor is putting in a suitable effort to compact this area.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
