Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the
purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were
employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (NG Grading) for the
observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill. The contractor continued placing lifts of approx. 1ft to 1.5ft in size across the commercial lots located by front detention pond. ASEC discussed the lift size with the contractor and expressed concerns of potential low compaction results due to lifts being installed too thick. The contractor requested to test the area first before they change lift size. ASEC agreed and conducted density testing. All test results were provided to the contractor.
The contractor continued placing lifts of approx. 6in to 8in across the lots #8 – #13 and #52 – #60 area. Density testing was conducted, and all test results were provided to the contractor. ASEC watched as loaded trucks rolled across the lifts to check for stability. There were no signs of pumping or cracking present, and the lift appears to be stable.
The pipe crew installed BA2 – BA5. Density testing will be conducted when they backfill approx. +2ft above pipeline.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding
