Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the
purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were
employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials
submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Our ASEC representative was on site as requested by the contractor (NG Grading) for the
observation/testing of the placement of fill/backfill.

The contractors continued placing GAB in the Deceleration Lane and on the road extension. During the excavation of soil in the road extension, a white pipe exposed. This area was probe rodded and it was very soft ground. It was recommended to remove approx. 2ft x 2ft x 100ft long of the loose soil and replace with GAB to prevent any pumping on the roadway in this area. The contractors added water to the GAB and compacted the lifts with a smooth drum vibrating roller.

The grading crew began the excavation of wall #1. The face of wall appears to cross the LOD stakes and is within approx. 10ft to 15ft of a small tree on the outside of the property line. This was brought to the contractors and Mr. Woods attention. The grading crew only has one entrance to allow trucks down to the wall, which has extended the time it will take to load trucks and haul out the topsoil located along the footing. DCP testing will be conducted once the footing has been excavated.
