Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
During a concrete pour for the retaining wall, field quality control tests were performed including temperature, slump, unit weight, air meter, and concrete cylinder sampling. All tests were performed in accordance with standard procedures, and cylinders were cast for strength verification.
On the other side of the site, backfilling operations continued for Lots #37, 38, and 39. The backfill material was placed in lifts of approximately 6–8 inches thickness and spread using a crawler bulldozer. Each lift was compacted using a sheep-foot roller and Caterpillar 815 compactor.
At Lots #17 and 18, the crew carried out stripping operations where the topsoil was removed and relocated as part of site preparation activities.
In the neighboring Buford area, the crew continued excavation activities and encountered rock during the process. A rock grinder attachment connected to a hydraulic excavator was used to break and remove the rock. Excavation was carried out to a depth of approximately 8–10 feet, with a trench width of about 6–8 feet and extended to a length of approximately 10–15 feet, progressing as required for the installation work.
