Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Concrete was placed at the retaining wall with a total volume of approximately 288 cubic yards. During the pour, concrete sampling testing was carried out in accordance with standard procedures, with one set of tests performed for every 100 cubic yards. A total of three (3) sets of six (6) specimens were cast and tested, including temperature, slump, and air meter tests. The first test recorded a temperature of 55°F, slump of 4 inches, and air content of 4%. The second test showed a temperature of 62°F, slump of 4 inches, and air content of 4.2%. The third test recorded a temperature of 65°F, slump of 6 inches, and air content of 4.5%.
On the other side of the site, the crew continued working on Lots #20, 21, and 22, where fill material was placed in lifts of approximately 6–8 inches thickness. The material was compacted using a Caterpillar 815 compactor.
Neighboring Buford area, the crew continued excavation activities through rock using a hydraulic excavator equipped with a rock grinder attachment, progressing to a length of approximately 10 feet and depth of 6-8ft and wide 8-10ft.
