As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Crew continued working on Lots #63 and 64, where fill material was placed in lifts, spread using a crawler bulldozer, and compacted using both a sheep-foot roller and a Caterpillar 815. Density tests were performed, and the results met the required compaction specifications.

Fill material was placed in the area between Manholes A8 and A9 in lifts and compacted using a sheep-foot roller in preparation for sewer line excavation and installation. A mini sheep-foot roller was utilized near the retaining wall where access for larger equipment was limited.

At Wall 5, the crew prepared the footing by leveling the subgrade. Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) tests were conducted to evaluate soil strength.

Test 1:  red silty sand clay
1st foot – 13 blows, 2nd foot – 14 blows, 3rd foot – 16 blows, 4th foot – 14 blows

Test 2:  red silty sand clay
1st foot – 11 blows, 2nd foot – 12 blows, 3rd foot – 11 blows, 4th foot – 11 blows

At the Buford neighborhood site, the crew continued trench and manhole operations, including installation of a precast manhole structure with risers. The subgrade was prepared with No. 57 stone bedding, and a hole was cored into the riser using drilling equipment to facilitate pipe connection. Backfill material was placed and compacted, while additional temporary backfill was placed for stability, with further compaction to be completed in subsequent operations.
